The responsibilities of the Chief Accountant in this company include:

• Ensure the smooth operation, planning, control, and supervision of all accounting activities, while providing support during their execution.
• Develop and improve accounting procedures and coordinating accounting operations with other departments.
• Manage communication with domestic and international entities and partners, including tax authorities, banks, suppliers, investment.
• Monitor tax obligations and take responsibility for the preparation and submission of VAT, payroll tax, and other indirect taxes.
• Participate in the preparation of income tax declarations, reconciliation of general ledger accounts related to taxes and withholdings, and the monthly closing process of the accounting department.
• Monitor and control supplier transactions, including balance reconciliations and payments.
• Manage and maintain import and export documentation files.

The required qualifications for this Chief Accountant role are:

• Bachelor’s degree with a focus on Finance/Accounting.
• Holder of a Class A professional license from the Economic Chamber of Greece.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar managerial position preferably within the retail industry.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably softone.
• Strong knowledge of taxation, Greek Accounting Standards (ΕΛΠ), MyData, General Chart of Accounts (ΕΓΛΣ), VAT, withholding taxes, GEMI matters, corporate law, labor law, and costing.
• Critical thinking, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of business operations.
• Willingness and ability to work in demanding environments.
• Excellent organizational, managerial, and communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, income statements, cash flows, and year-end closings.
